Ingredients For mother's strawberry shortcake

1 qtfresh strawberries washed and diced

1/3 csugar

2prepared pastry circles, or make your own

1/2 ptwhipping cream
How To Make mother's strawberry shortcake

1Add sugar to diced berries 30 minutes before serving. This allows the berries to make juice.

2Cut the pastry circles into 1" wide strips and bake on a cookie sheet until golden brown. Set aside.

3Whip the cream and refrigerate.
