How To Make maple glazed pecans & brown sugar banana parfaits
-
Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Toss pecans, maple syrup & salt on a parchment paper-lined rimmed baking sheet; spread out in a single layer. Bake until maple syrup is caramelized & pecans are toasted, 10 - 15 minutes. Let cool completely on baking sheet. Set aside.
-
Step 2Meanwhile, bring whiskey, sugars & butter to a boil in a large skillet (do not move pan or mixture may flame up). Turn off heat; stir mixture to dissolve sugar completely.
-
Step 3Return to medium heat & simmer until sauce is thickened & glossy, 2 minutes. Add bananas & cook, swirling skillet occasionally, until bananas are just softened, 2 minutes. Remove from heat & let mixture cool completely in skillet, 1 hour.
-
Step 4Layer bananas & sauce, pecans & ice cream in small mason jars or glasses & top with a dollop of cool whip free.
-
Step 5NOTE: Parfaits can be made 8 hours ahead. Cover & freeze. Let stand at room temperature for 10 minutes, before serving.
