These are terrific and fast. Serve them for breakfast instead of pancakes, or with vanilla ice cream for dessert. OR, just make a mess of them and have them yourself during a chic flick. Whenever, they're delicious.

Ingredients

several peeled cooking apples 1/4 inch slices.
1 cup self-rising flour
1 tablespoon sugar
2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 beaten egg
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup canola or vegetable oil
powdered sugar
honey

Directions Step-By-Step

In bowl, beat egg, milk, sour cream, sugar, and cinnamon. Add flour and stir until mixed thoroughly. Dip apple slice in batter and then in hot oil. Fry until browned on both sides. Drain on paper towel. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.

NOTE: I usually lightly drizzle honey over the fritters,too, while they're on the paper towel draining. It gives a little more sweet taste and it's very good.
