Directions
Pre Heat oven to 375 degrees FahrenheitWash, peel, core, and slice (thin slices work best) applesIn large skillet; melt butter over medium heat.Add apples, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the apples are softAdd vanilla. Stir. Cooking for only a few minutes more. While apples are cooking open can of cinnamon rolls. Grease a 2 quart rectangular baking dish (Do NOT FLOUR, just butter, crisco, or pam). Remove 1 roll at a time from the can of cinnamon rolls. Unroll each roll into a long strip and line the baking dish with the cinnamon side up (or the side that has the most cinnamon). Completely line the bottom of the dish with the cinnamon rolls. Reserve remaining rolls.Pour apple mixture over top of the cinnamon roll bottom in the baking dish.Unroll the remaining cinnamon rolls and create a lattice top to the danish. (cinnamon side down)Place danish in the oven on the middle rack. Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown.Remove baked danish from the oven. Use the icing from the cinnamon roll tube to ice the lattice. (This can be transfered to a piping back or a ziploc bag with the corner removed for a fancier touch).Serve warm. (vanilla ice cream makes this super awesome!)
