Jenni's StoryWho doesn't love apple crisp, especially in the fall? As a dessert, serve it warm with vanilla ice cream. For a treat in the morning, have it for breakfast with some vanilla yogurt!

1Preheat oven to 375. Grease bottom & sides of a 8x8 square pan with shortening.
2In a small bowl, mix together 1/8 C of sugar and 1/4 tsp cinnamon. Toss together with the peeled, sliced apples until coated evenly. Spread apples in the bottom of the pan.
3Mix together all topping ingredients except butter. Once mixed, add butter and mix well - I find it easiest to use my hands to incorporate the butter into the mixture. Sprinkle evenly over apple mixture.
4Bake about 30 minutes at 375 until topping is golden brown. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream if desired.

You're welcome! I like more of the "crisp" on top than other recipes I've found, so I had to alter other recipes to make it what I wanted. Enjoy!
