Jenni's Notes:
Who doesn't love apple crisp, especially in the fall? As a dessert, serve it warm with vanilla ice cream. For a treat in the morning, have it for breakfast with some vanilla yogurt!

Directions

1
Preheat oven to 375. Grease bottom & sides of a 8x8 square pan with shortening.
2
In a small bowl, mix together 1/8 C of sugar and 1/4 tsp cinnamon. Toss together with the peeled, sliced apples until coated evenly. Spread apples in the bottom of the pan.
3
Mix together all topping ingredients except butter. Once mixed, add butter and mix well - I find it easiest to use my hands to incorporate the butter into the mixture. Sprinkle evenly over apple mixture.
4
Bake about 30 minutes at 375 until topping is golden brown. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream if desired.

You're welcome! I like more of the "crisp" on top than other recipes I've found, so I had to alter other recipes to make it what I wanted. Enjoy!

You can use whatever apples are your favorite. My favorite apples are Braeburns, so that's what I usually use, since that's what's usually in my house. Granny smith apples would be good, too, I think. More tart, though. Enjoy!!
