Holiday Peach Cobbler

I made this recipe by tweaking my moms traditional cobbler recipe. I made it for her once, and she secretly confided in me that even she thought it was better than her own!

My fiance, kids, and friends all give this one a "standing ovation." ;)

Ingredients

FILLING ...

2 large
cans peaches in heavy syrup, 1 can drained
3/4 c
granulated sugar
1 Tbsp
cinnamon, ground

TOPPING ...

1/2 c
butter or margarine, melted
1 c
all-purpose flour
2 tsp
baking powder
1/4 tsp
salt
3/4 c
milk
1 Tbsp
cinnamon, ground
3/4 c
granulated sugar

Directions Step-By-Step

Mix peaches (1 can drianed, 1 can with syrup) with 3/4 cup sugar and 1 table spoon ground cinnamon. Place in baking dish.

Combine flour, baking powder, salt, milk and remaining 3/4 cup sugar. Mix until just combined. Pour over peaches.

Pour melted butter over cobbler. Sprinkle 1 table spoon ground cinnamon on top.

Bake 45-50 minutes, until lightly browned and topping is cooked through. Serve hot with vanilla ice cream, or serve chilled with whipped cream.
