'Blackberry Dumplings"

In Berry season, we put up berries in the freezer, and on Cool evenings we enjoy goodies like this favorite dessert, in front of the Fire.

Ingredients

PART 1 BLACKBERRY MIXTURE

3 pt
ripe blackberries
3/4 cup
water
1 cup
sugar
1 tsp
cinnamon
1 1/2 Tbsp
butter softened, no margine

PART 2 DUMPLING BATTER

2 cup
flour
3 Tbs
sugar
1 Tsp
salt
3 1/2 Tsp
baking powder
1
egg
milk to moisten batter

Step-By-Step

1Combine all ingredients in Part 1 in large stove top pan, and set aside.
2Sift all dry ingredients in part 2, into mixing bowl.
Add: egg and mix well. Add enough milk to make a stiff batter and set aside.
3Bring Blackberry Mixture to a boil. Drop Dumplings into batter, a Teaspoon at a time. Cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes.

Serve with Whip cream, or Vanilla Ice cream.
