I've been making this recipe since my family went apple picking in Warwick, New York about 35 years ago. Thought I'd share it with everyone.

Ingredients

4 c
sliced peeled apples
1/4 c
orange juice
1 c
sugar
3/4 c
all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp
cinnamon
1/4 tsp
nutmeg
1/2 c
butter
whipped cream or ice cream (optional)

Step-By-Step

1Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Mound apples in a 9" pie plate, sprinkle with orange juice.

2For topping combine sugar, flour and spices. Cut in butter until mixture is crumbly; then scatter over apples.

3Bake at 375 for 45 minutes, or until apples are done and topping is golden and crisp. Serve warm or at room temperature. It's really good with ice cream or whipped cream.
