Haven't made this pie in awhile I forgot how easy it is. It's one of my family favorites.

Ingredients

baked pie shell
3 large
egg yolks
3 Tbsp
corn starch [heaping]
1 c
sugar
3 c
milk
2 c
coconut

MERINGUE

5
egg whites
1 tsp
cream of tarter
1 tsp
vinilla
1/2 c
sugar

Directions Step-By-Step

In sauce pan mix first 4 ingredience

Cook stiring constantly over medium heat till thick.

Remove from heat add 2 Tablespoons butter and1 teaspoon vinilla. Stir cover with film let cool. Add coconut.

Pour into baked pie shell

Mix meringue ingredients with electric mixer till stiff peaks form.

Arrange on top of pie. Sprinkle with coconut. Bake at 350 degrees till light brown.
