Ingredients

1/2 c
butter, softened
1/4 c
sugar
1
egg yolk
1 tsp
vanilla extract
1 c
all purpose flour
1/8 tsp
salt
1/2 c
sugar
1 Tbsp
corn starch
4
egg yolks
1 tsp
vanilla extract
1 c
whipping cream
1 c
milk chocolate chips
1 c
pecans,optional

Step-By-Step

1Preheat oven to 325 degrees and grease 8x8 baking dish.
2Cream the butter and sugar.Add single egg yolk and vanilla and beat till fluffy.
3Add the flour and the salt and blend till just combined.Refrigerate dough for 15 minutes.
4Flour hands and press the dough 1/4 inch thick on bottom and up the sides about 1 inch of baking dish. Put in frigerator while preparing filling.
5Filling; Combine sugar and cornstarch and mix well. Beat 4 egg yolks 5 minutes till fluffy.
6Add cornstarch mixture and mix till combined. Add vanilla,whipping cream,chocolate chips and nuts and blend well.
7Pour into baking dish and bake 55-60 minutes. Let cool and chill.
