Ingredients For hot chocolate eggnog

  • 2 oz
    2 blocks unsweetened baking chocolate, broken into pieces
  • 4 c
    milk
  • 3/4 c
    sugar
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 4
    egg yolks, slightly beaten
  • 1/3 c
    light rum
  • 3 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 1 Tbsp
    unsweetened cocoa
  • 4
    egg whites, room temperature
  • sweetened whipped cream
  • nutmeg

How To Make hot chocolate eggnog

    Combine baking chocolate pieces, milk, 3/4 cup sugar, the salt, and egg yolks in 4 quart saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly with wire whisk, until mixture is hot but not boiling. Add rum; beat with rotary beater until mixture is smooth. Combine 3 tablespoons sugar and the cocoa. Beat egg whites until foamy; gradually beat in sugar cocoa mixture.

    Beat until stiff peaks form; fold into chocolate mixture. Pour into heatproof punch bowl or cups; top with sweetened whipped cream and sprinkle with nutmeg. Serve immediately.
