Ingredients For chocolate tortoni

1 pkg11 ounces chocolate cream filled sandwich cookies

1 2/3 c13 ounce can evaporated milk

3/4 cchocolate flavored syrup

1/2 cheavy or whipping cream

2 Tbsprum or rum extract

1 Tbspsugar
-
1 tspvanilla
-
1 cfinely chopped walnuts, additional walnuts

9maraschino cherries, well drained and cut into halves
How To Make chocolate tortoni

1Place cookies, a few at a time, in processor or blender; process or blend to form fine crumbs. Set aside. Pour evaporated milk into large mixer bowl. Place bowl and beaters in freezer until ice crystals form around edge of evaporated milk. Whip until stiff peaks form. Fold in syrup, cream, rum or rum extract, sugar, vanilla, and cookie crumbs.

2Pour into paper lined muffin cups (2 1/2 inches in diameter). Sprinkle with 1 cup chopped walnuts. Cover and freeze several hours or overnight. Top with additional chopped walnuts and maraschino cherry halves just before serving.
