Ingredients

4 medium
granny smith apples
1/3 c
chopped dates or figs
1/4 c
packed brown sugar
1/2 tsp
ground cinnamon
1/4 c
apple juice
1 Tbsp
butter, cut into four pieces

Directions Step-By-Step

1
Core apples and cut a strip of peel from the top of each. Place apples, top sides up, in a 4-quart slow cooker.

Cover and cook on LOW for 5 hours. With a large spoon, transfer apples to dessert dishes. Spoon some of the liquid over the apples, and serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side.
