These are crispy cookies. Although I make these at Christmas too, I make these in the fall, so they always make me think of cider and hayrides! This is an old fashioned recipe so it does call for lard!

1/2 cbutter

1/2 clard

1 1/2 csugar

2eggs

1 tspvanilla

2 2/3 cflour

2 tspcream of tartar

1 tspbaking soda

1/4 tspsalt

2 Tbspsugar

1 1/2 tspcinnamon
How To Make old fashioned snickerdoodles

1preheat oven to 400. Beat butter and lard together until creamy. Add 1 1/2 cups sugar and beat until fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla.

2Sift together flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture.

3combine cinnamon and 2 tablespoons sugar together in a small bowl. shape dough into walnut sized balls and roll in cinnamon sugar.

4place balls about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. bake at 400 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
