Ingredients

COOKIES

1 c
unsalted butter, softened
1 1/2 c
granulated sugar
1 tsp
vanilla extract
2 large
eggs
2 3/4 c
all-purpose flour
1 tsp
baking powder
1/2 tsp
kosher salt

FROSTING

1 c
unsalted butter, softened
1 tsp
vanilla extract
1 pinch
kosher salt
3 c
powdered sugar
3 Tbsp
milk
1
drop blue food coloring (i use gel), optional
colored sprinkles, optional

Step-By-Step

1FOR THE COOKIES:

Pre heat oven to 350 degrees. Line a 15x10x1 inch baking sheet with parchment paper.
2Beat butter and sugar for 2 minutes on medium high with an electric mixer, scraping sides down occasionally.
3Add vanilla and eggs and beat until combined. Add flour, baking powder and salt, mixing until fully blended.
4Using floured hands, drop dough onto baking sheet and press until evenly distributed. This takes a minute or two, but it can be done!
5Bake for 15-18 minutes, until the edges begin to brown. Remove from oven and cool completely.
6FOR THE FROSTING:

Beat butter and vanilla on high for two minutes until fluffy.
7Add salt, powdered sugar ad milk and beat for 3-5 minutes until fluffy and fully blended.

Beat in food coloring until combined.
8Spread on cooled cookie bars and add sprinkles. Cut into squares.
