Ingredients For chocolate almond cookies

  • 1 c
    butter, softened
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 1
    egg
  • 1/2 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp
    almond extract
  • 2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1/2 c
    unsweetend cocoa
  • 1/4 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/8 tea
    salt
  • sugar
  • 48
    blanched almonds, whole or slivered

How To Make chocolate almond cookies

  • 1
    Cream butter and 1 cup sugar in large mixer bowl until light and fluffy. Add egg, vanilla, and almond extract; beat well. Combine flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; blend into creamed mixture. Cover tightly; chill about 1 hour or until firm enough to handle.

    Shape dough into 1 inch balls; roll in sugar. Place on ungreased cookie sheet; lightly press an almond or almond sliver into top of each ball of dough. Bake at 350 for 12-15 minutes or until set. Remove from cookie sheet; cool on wire rack.
