Ingredients For applesauce jumbles

2 3/4 call purpose flour

1 1/2 cpacked brown sugar

1 tspsalt

1/2 tspbaking soda

3/4 capplesauce

1/2 cshortening
-
2eggs
-
1 tspground cinnamon
-
1 tspvanilla
-
1/4 tspground cloves
-
1 craisins
-
1 cchopped nuts, if desired

browned butter glaze (below)
How To Make applesauce jumbles

1Mix all ingredients, except glaze. (If dough is soft, cover and refrigerate). Heat oven to 375. Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet.

2Bake until almost no indentation remains when touched, about 10 minutes. Immediately remove from cookie sheet. Cool; spread with Browned Butter Glaze. *If using self rising flour, omit salt and baking soda.

3For Browned Butter Glaze: Heat 1/3 cup butter over low heat until golden brown; remove from heat. Stir in 2 cups powdered sugar and 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla. Beat in 2-4 tablespoons hot water until smooth and of desired consistency.
