My kids love M&M Cookies so I decided to give them a variety!

pinch tips: Parchment Paper Vs Wax Paper

2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
dash of salt
1/2 cup shortening
1 stick cold butter (8 tablespoons), cubed
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup sugar
1 (3.4 ounce) box instant vanilla pudding
1 tablespoon imitation vanilla extract
2 large eggs
1 (12.6 ounce) bag milk chocolate m&m's candies, divided
1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
1/2 cup vanilla chips
1/2 cup peanut butter chips

Directions Step-By-Step

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper. Combine flour, soda and salt; set aside. With an electric mixer, cream shortening, butter and sugars. Stir in pudding mix and vanilla extract. Add eggs and beat well. Gradually, add the flour mixture. Stir in 3/4 cup M&M'S.
Divide dough evenly (about 1 1/2 cups) in 4 small bowls. First bowl, add an additional 1/2 cup of M&M'S (reserve the rest for decorating). Second bowl, add chocolate chips. Third bowl, add vanilla chips. Fourth bowl, add peanut butter chips.
Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to drop rounded amounts of dough on cookie sheets. Decorate cookies with reserved M&M'S. Bake 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool 2 minutes on cookie sheets before removing to wire rack. Cool completely. Makes 4 dozen.
