Ingredients

1 lb
light brown sugar
1 Tbsp
butter
3 Tbsp
sugar
1/2 c
milk
1 tsp
cornstarch
1 tsp
vanilla
1 jar(s)
(8 oz.) smooth peanut butter
1 c
finely chopped nuts (optional)

Step-By-Step

1Dissolve brown sugar, butter and white sugar with milk. Cook until it forms soft ball stage (234-240 degrees on candy thermometer); test in small bowl of cold water. Add cornstarch dissolved in little cold water.
2Remove from stove and beat well. Add vanilla, peanut butter and nuts.
3Immediately transfer to buttered pan. Let cool to lukewarm; cut into squares.
