These are great ways to make your own when in a pinch. I have used both methods in place of the store bought Rising Flour and Caster sugar.

Ingredients

CASTER SUGAR

1 1/2 c
granulated sugar

SELF RISING FLOUR

1 c
all purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp
baking powder or soda
1/4 tsp
salt

Step-By-Step

1Caster sugar- place sugar in a food processor. Blend until the sugar becomes fine. It should take 2 minutes. Do not over process or you will have powdered sugar.

I find that 11/2 cups of sugar makes 1 cup of fine Caster sugar.
2Self Rising flour- combine all ingredients together well. If recipe calls for sifted flour. Just sift as normal.
3Note: self-rising flour has added salt, baking soda, and baking powder.
