An oldie but goody! I fon't recall where it originated. If you love Cherry cheese cake,but not all of the fat and calories. This is a great alternative. Only 8 grams of fat and 3 carbs per serving. Taste so good. You wouldn't think it was low fat.I usually make this in the summer,but great for the holidays too. Also if you aren't cutting your calories. You can use regular cream cheese,butter,and regular whipped topping in place of the light ingredients.

Ingredients For lightened up cherry cheese cake

    8 ounce container of cool whip light topping
  • 1/2 bag
    5 ounces mini marshmallows
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1/4 c
    sugar
  • 1 pkg
    8 ounce light cream cheese softened
  • CRUST
  • 1/3 c
    reduced fat margerine
  • 1/4 c
    sugar
  • 1 1/2 c
    graham crackers crumbs
  • CHERRY FILLING
  • 1
    can of light cherry pie filling for topping

How To Make lightened up cherry cheese cake

    make the crust. mix together the sugar,graham cracker crumbs,and melted margarine. Press in to a spring form pan ,and refrigerate.

    beat the cream cheese,sugar,and vanilla until smooth. Add the cool whip,and marshmallows,and combine well.

    Pour in to crust and refrigerate for at least 5 hours before serving. When serving top with light cherry filling,and fat free whipped cream if desired.
