This cake is full of Irish cream flavor. The cake has a cream cheese Bailey's frosting filling. It is sweet,and no need to frost this cake. You could omit the green food coloring as well. Make it for Easter with different color swirls. Just divide the filling and mix with different colors.Make any occasion festive with this recipe.

Ingredients For irish cream white chocolate shamrock cake

  • NOTE: IF YOU PREFER. YOU CAN USE A YELLOW CAKE MIX INSTEAD OF THE BATTER RECIPE. JUST MAKE MIX AS INDICATED ON BOX. ADD 3/4 CUP OF BAILEY'S IRISH CREAM TO BATTER, AND MIX WELL.
  • CAKE BATTER
  • 2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 1/4 c
    granulated sugar
  • 1 c
    milk
  • 1/2 c
    soft butter
  • 2
    eggs
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1 Tbsp
    baking powder
  • 3/4 c
    bailey's irish cream liquor
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • FILLING
  • 1/2 c
    reserved cake batter
  • 3
    drops green food coloring
  • 1/4 c
    bailey's irish cream liquor
  • 1/4 c
    softened butter
  • 4 oz
    cream cheese
  • 2 c
    powdered sugar
  • 11 oz
    white chocolate chips,or chopped green white melting chocolate discs

How To Make irish cream white chocolate shamrock cake

    Heat oven to 350 degree's. Grease and flour a 9 x 13 inch pan.

    Prepare batter by following directions on cake mix or as follows. Sift the flour,salt,sugar,baking powder together in a big bowl. add the milk,Bailey's,and butter. Beat well. Add the eggs last. Beat for about 3 minutes on medium speed. Reserve 1/2 cup of batter for filling.

    In a separate bowl. Mix 1/4 cup of Bailey's with the butter,and cream cheese on medium speed until combined.add powdered sugar. Weigh out 12 ounces of frosting. Mix with reserved batter, and food coloring. beat well. Mix in the white chocolate chips.

    Pour cake batter in to prepared pan. Drop teaspoon fulls of the Bailey's frosting white chocolate mixture randomly on top of batter.

    Use a fork to make swirls patterns in the cake with the green filling.

    place in oven and bake for 45 minutes- 1 hour. tooth pick should come out clean after inserting in to cake part of bars. Do not test green filling. That should remain moist.

    Remove from oven,and cool. Cut in to square. and serve.
