Ingredients

eggs, beated well
2 c
sugar
1 c
wesson oil
1 Tbsp
vanilla
3 c
sifted flour
1/2 tsp
soda
1 c
nuts (pecans or walnuts)
3 c
chopped raw apples
1/2 tsp
salt

ICING:

1/2 c
butter
1 c
brown sugar, firmly packed
1/4 c
evaporated milk

Directions Step-By-Step

Beat oil, sugar and vanilla in a bowl at medium speed of electric mixer about 3 minutes. Sift together flour, salt and soda and add gradually to egg mixture, beating well after each addition. Stir in apples and nuts. Pour into tube pan and bake at 300- for about 45 minutes or until done. Cool for 5 minutes and remove from pan.

Icing: (Make after cake is done)
Combine butter, brown sugar and milk in saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture boils. Boil 3 minutes. Remove from heat and spread at once on cake.
