I HAD SOME BUTTERMILK THAT I HAD TO USE UP AS WELL AS AN OPEN BAG OF DARK CHOCOLATE DOVE CHOCOLATES (WHICH KEPT CALLN MY NAME...LOL) SO I MADE THIS CAKE N WILL SLICE IT UP FOR HUBBY TO BRING INTO WORK TOMORROW....AFTER DINNER WE HAD A SLICE FOR DESSERT....HAD TO MAKE SURE IT WAS GOOD N IT WAS DELISH :)

Ingredients For dark chocolate buttermilk pound cake

  • 2 stick
    butter, room temp.
  • 2 c
    sugar
  • 6 lg
    eggs
  • 1 bag
    dark chocolate chocolates, meltd (i used dove chocolates) bag size read 8.87 oz. minus a few that found my mouth!
  • 1 tsp
    almond extract
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 3 c
    flour
  • 1/4 tsp
    bakn soda
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 c
    dark chocolate cocoa powder
  • 1 CUP. BUTTERMILK. (THIS INGREDIENT IS FOR CAKE NOT GLAZE) GLAZE INGRED IS BELOW!!

    confectioners sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    dark cocoa powder
  • 1/8 c
    cream (half n half or milk)
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla

    IN A MEDIUM SIZD BOWL COMBINE FLOUR, BAKN SODA, SALT N DARK CHOCOLATE COCOA POWDER THEN SET ASIDE.

    IN A MICROWAVE SAFE BOWL ADD UNWRAPPED CHOCOLATES N NUKE UNTIL MELTD N STIR. PUT ASIDE N LET COOL SLIGHTLY :)

    IN A LARGE BOWL MIX ROOM TEMP BUTTER N SUGAR, ADD VANILLA N ALMOND EXTRACTS AND EGGS ONE AT A TIME UNTIL THOROUGHLY MIXED. NEXT ADD IN MELTD CHOCOLATES N BLEND UNTIL CHOCOLATE STREAKS R GONE.

    MIX IN FLOUR MIXTURE ALTERNATELY WITH BUTTERMILK. POUR BATTER (OR SPOON IT IN...WILL B THICK) INTO PREPARED BUNDT PAN.

    BAKE AT 325 FOR 80 MINUTES...CAKE SHOULD SPRING BACK WEN TOUCHED. COOL COMPLETELY IN PAN.
