Babka means bundtcake in Polish.This is very good recipe.It's not to sweet.I bake this Babka often for Easter.I baked it today and I can't stop eating it.

Ingredients For chocolate hazelnut babka with chocolate glaze

  • 3/4 c
    all purpose flour
  • 5 lg
    eggs, separated
  • 3/4 c
    sugar
  • 1 Tbsp
    cocoa powder
  • 1/2 c
    chocolate hazelnut spread
  • 1 c
    hazelnut meal or almond
  • 1 pinch
    salt
  • 3 tsp
    baking powder
  • 4 Tbsp
    milk
  • 1 stick
    butter,unsalted
  • chocolate glaze;
  • 4 oz
    dark chocolate
  • 4 Tbsp
    butter

How To Make chocolate hazelnut babka with chocolate glaze

    Mix butter and sugar with electric mixer until fluffy.Add hazelnut spread.Add egg yolks ,one at the time.

    In separate bowl mix together the flour, baking powder, hazelnut meal and cocoa.

    Add alternatively flour mixture and milk until combine.

    Beat the egg whites until they form stiff pick.Add gently to hazelnut mixture.

    Pour the dough to greased bundtcake pan and bake for 30 minutes in 320 F preheat oven.Then increase to 350 F and bake for another 30 minutes or until toothpick comes clean.

    For the glaze: Melt the chocolate and butter in double boiler and glaze on top of cool cake.
