An easy to make, moist, delicious cake that starts with a cake mix and pie filling and a smooth and creamy frosting. You can use different cake mixes and different pie fillings and have a new cake every time.

Ingredients

1 box
(18 ounces) chocolate cake mix
1 can(s)
(21 ounces) cherry pie filling
1 tsp
vanilla

FROSTING

1/2 c
sugar
1/2 c
brown sugar
1/2 c
butter
1/3 c
whole milk
1 pkg
(12 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips
1 tsp
vanilla

Directions Step-By-Step

In a large bowl, combine cake mix, cherry pie filling, vanilla and eggs.
Beat until well mixed, then beat 1 minute at medium speed.

Pour into greased and floured 9 X 13 inch baking pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes.

Frosting: While cake is in oven, combine sugar, brown sugar, butter and milk in large saucepan.
Bring to a boil, then boil for 1 minute, stirring constantly, until sugar is dissolved.
Remove from heat and add chocolate chips and vanilla,
Stir with a wire whisk until the chips are melted and frosting is smooth.

Pour over warm cake and spread to cover.
Cool on wire rack before serving.
