Banana Cake with Nutella Frosting

1-1/2 c
mashed ripe bananas
2 c
sifted flour
1/2 tsp
baking powder
3/4 tsp
baking soda
1/2 tsp
salt
1/2 c
unsalted butter
1-1/2 c
sugar
3
eggs, unbeaten
1 tsp
vanilla
1/4 c
buttermilk

FROSTING

6 Tbsp
unsalted butter
3/4 c
nutella
2-1/2 to 3 c
sifted powdered sugar
2 to 4 Tbsp
heavy cream

Directions Step-By-Step

Cream butter with sugar. Add eggs and vanilla.
Beat until smooth.
Blend in buttermilk.
Add mashed bananas alternately with dry ingredients.
Beat until batter is smooth.

Pour batter into 2 greased and floured 9 inch pans.
Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes.
Can also use a 9 X 13 inch pan.
Cool for 10 minutes in pan and then turn out onto a cooling rack.
Cool completely before frosting.

FROSTING: In a stand mixer beat butter and Nutella on medium, about 1 minute.
Add in powdered sugar, 1 cup at a time. Mixture will appear crumbly.
Add in 2 tbsp. cream and continue beating on medium-high speed for about 3 minutes.
Add additional tbsps. of cream until the frosting reaches a soft spreadable consistency.
I used 4 tbsp. in total.
