One of the prettiest cookies on my holiday cookie tray and absolutely DELICIOUS! You'll want to hide a few away for yourself, though, because they are always the first to disappear! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! (photo from taste of home)

Ingredients For swiss alps cookies

  • 1 cup
    softened butter, do not sub
  • 1 cup
    powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp.
    vanilla
  • 2 cups
    flour
  • 1/2 tsp.
    salt
  • FILLING:
  • 1 (3 oz.)
    pkg. cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup
    powdered sugar
  • 2 Tbl.
    flour
  • 1 tsp.
    vanilla
  • 1/2 cup
    finely chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup
    sweetened flaked coconut
  • TOPPING:
  • 1/2 cup
    semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 Tbl.
    butter
  • 2 Tbl.
    water
  • 1/2 cup
    powdered suager

How To Make swiss alps cookies

    In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in vanilla. Combine flour and salt; gradually add to the creamed mixture and mix well. Shape into 1-in. balls; place 2 in. apart on ungreased baking sheets. Make a deep indentation in the center of each cookie. Bake at 350° for 10-12 minutes or until the edges just start to brown. Remove to wire racks to cool completely. For the filling, in a large bowl, beat the cream cheese, sugar, flour and vanilla until smooth. Add pecans and coconut. Spoon 1/2 teaspoon into each cookie. For topping, in a microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate chips and butter with water; stir until smooth. Stir in sugar. Drizzle over cookies.
