I got this recipe from my aunt who makes these great cookies every year for Christmas. I like giving these out to friends and family on a cookie plate for the holidays. Making them into different colors makes it even better! Great for anytime of the year!

Ingredients For amanda's butter cookies

  • 2 c
    butter, not margerine
  • 1 c
    powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 4 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • nuts optional

How To Make amanda's butter cookies

    Make sure your butter is at room temperature, or its too hard to mix. Cream all ingredients into large bowl and until fluffy. Your may need to use your hands to mix the batter because it will become hard to mix. Chill for atleast 2hrs.

    Spoon out dough into teaspoon size and roll into a ball, and then roll into sprinkles or colored sugar of our choice for decoration.

    Bake at 350 degrees for approx. 20 minutes. Cool on cooling rack.
