salted mocha chocolate chip cookies

I love certain flavors together. Chocolate and coffee is one of my favorite, but it wasn't one of my childrens favorites. Well the kids are all grown up and have all left home. Now I can cook what we like now. I call this my grown up chocolate chip cookie. I hope you enjoy this as much as I do.

Ingredients For salted mocha chocolate chip cookies

  • 1/2 c
    butter, salted
  • 1/2 c
    shortening, butter flavor
  • 1/2 c
    white sugar
  • 1 1/2 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 2
    eggs
  • 1 Tbsp
    vanilla
  • course sea salt
  • 3 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 c
    pecans, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp
    instant coffee granuals
  • 1 lb
    semi sweet or dark chocolate chopped into pieces

How To Make salted mocha chocolate chip cookies

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • 2
    Cream fats and sugars till creamy, add eggs, then add vanilla. Mix dry ingredients except sea salt together and add to wet ingredients, do not over mix. Then by hand fold in pecans, chopped chocolate pieces and instant coffee

    Place even sized cookies on a baking sheet and bake for 10 min in a preheated oven

    As soon as you take out of the oven sprinkle with a little salt on top. ( you can add 1 tsp salt in the dough if you don't want to put it on top of the baked cookie) But it tastes great on top.
