I had always made a butter rolled cookie for cut-out cookies. Then, this cookie caught my eye. I really love the flavor of cinnamon! So, next time I make rolled out cookies, I want to try this one! Prep time, does not include chill time, in refrigerator.

Ingredients For rolled cinnamon-sugar cookies

  • cooking spray
  • 3 14 c
    all-purpose flour or unbleached all-purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp
    baking powder
  • 2 tsp
    ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 2/3 c
    butter, at room temperature
  • 1 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 2 lg
    eggs
  • 1/4 c
    milk
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract

How To Make rolled cinnamon-sugar cookies

    Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray baking sheets with cooking spray.

    Sift together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Beat butter and sugar in a large bowl, at medium speed, until creamy. Beat in eggs, until light and fluffy. Beat in milk and vanilla.

    Stir flour mixture into egg mixture, one-third at a time, to make a stiff dough. Divide dough into fourths; flatten to 1/2 inch thickness. Wrap; refrigerate 4 hours or overnight.

    Working with one-fourth of the dough at a time (refrigerate remaining dough), roll out on generously floured surface to 3/8 inch thickness. Cut into shapes, using 3 inch cutters. Place on prepared baking sheets.

    Bake 10-12 minutes, until golden around edges. Transfer cookies to racks to cool completely. Repeat with remaining dough. Frost and decorate cookies as desired.
