Tina's Notes:

Grandma made these every year at Christmas, although we begged for them all year round. Now it's my childrens turn to ask, at least twice a month for them.

Directions

1
Cream together cream cheese, butter and egg yolk.
2
Knead in flour 1/2 cup at a time. Add lemon juice. Continue until rolling consistency.
3
Flour flat surface. I pull dough apart into softball size pieces(makes it easier to handle). Roll out to approximately 1/4 in thickness. Use either round cookie cutter or round drinking glass to cut out cookies.
4
In the center of each cookie drop a tablespoon of preserves or lekvar. Fold cookie and press edges with fork.
5
Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes on an ungreased cookie sheet.
6
Cool and sprinkle with powdered sugar.

I may be wrong but I don't see where in the recipe the "lekvar (prune butter)" is placed?
