Grease cookie sheet well.
Dissolve baking soda in persimmon pulp and set aside.
Sift together flour, spices, and salt set aside.
Cream together sugar and shortening until fluffy, add in egg and mix together.
Stir in flour mixture and pulp into cream mixture. Stir in nuts and raisins.
Bake at 350 degree F. for 10-12 minutes.
