Yet another recipe from the cookbook my great aunt gave me that was compiled for her local high school homecoming reunion. These so sound good! I'm definitely going to add these to the Christmas goodie list! I LOVE orange and chocolate together! YUM! Enjoy! **Original recipe is from the Plummerville Homecoming Cookbook, 1994, and the recipe credit goes to Larae Shipman.**

Ingredients For orange drops

  • 12 oz
    vanilla wafers, crushed
  • 2 c
    powdered sugar
  • 1/4 c
    butter, melted
  • 8 oz
    can frozen orange juice, thawed
  • nuts, chopped (optional)
  • coconut (optional)
  • mini chocolate chips (optional)

How To Make orange drops

  • 1
    Mix all ingredients except whatever you're going to roll them in. Shape into balls and roll in whatever coating you choose.

    Original recipe: Mix in 1 cup chopped nuts, roll into balls, then roll in coconut. Other ideas: Idea #1: Mix in mini chocolate chips and roll into balls OR roll into balls and then roll in the mini chocolate chips. Idea #2: Roll into balls and then coat in melted chocolate. If desired, roll in nuts, or coconut, or both. Idea #3: Roll into balls and then roll in coconut OR coconut and nut mixture. The options are endless! Play with flavors you love and various presentations. Have fun!
