Annette's Story

This is the oatmeal raisin cookie recipe I have been using since I was about 15. It came from my grandma. They are soft and chewy and full of flavor. I have to have my oatmeal raisin cookies soft and spicy with cinnamon and nutmeg. This are just that. Your house will smell amazing for days!

I'm posting this recipe as a special request for a very dear friend of mine, Bea. Here you go beautiful. I hope you love them as much as I always have.

Recipe is my own. Photo is from beautiful Bea herself.

old fashioned oats
1 1/2 c

2 tsp
vanilla
1 tsp
baking soda
1 tsp
cinnamon
1/2 tsp
salt
1/2 tsp
nutmeg or grated fresh
1 pinch
ground cloves

Directions Step-By-Step

1
Preheat oven to 350°. Cream together butter, brown sugar and granulated sugar. Add eggs and vanilla and mixed until combined thoroughly.
2
In a medium bowl combine all the dry ingredients and mix them well.
3
Stir dry ingredients (except oats) into wet and mix them until they are just combined being careful not to over mix.
4
Gently add in oats and fold then add the raisins and stir until just combined.
5
Scoop 1 tablespoon of cookie dough onto un-greased cookie sheets about half an inch apart. Bake for 10 – 12 minutes until the cookies are golden brown along the edges. Do not over bake.
6
Remove from oven and onto a cooling rack. Enjoy!
