This cookie reciepe is my Great,Great Grandma Anderson's. When my dads folks got engaged, grandpa took grandma to meet his grandma, Gertie Anderson, in Stromsburg Nebraska. Great,Great Grandma Gertie wanted to see my Grandmother's enagagment ring. She insisted that they stay for coffe and cookies and chit-chat, for awhile. My grandma really loved these cookies, and fell inlove with Grandma Gertie's silverware that she had served with the coffee, many years passed and my grandma inhertited the silverware and the Oatmeal Raisin cookie Reciepe, along with the secret ingredient, to chewy cookies.

Mix sugar, crisco, eggs,(soda mixture), Mix well, on slow speed. Then add flour, oatmeal, walnuts and raisins. And the secret is 2 Tbl. of grape jelly (4 Tbl says my aunt, she claims the more jelly the softer the cookie, so you may add anywhere from 2 TBL to 4TBL. your choice) , mix well. (this helps keep the cookies soft and makes for a great taste). ***Cover and refrigerate, over night.***
