NOTE: This recipe that I am giving makes 5 dozen cookies. Also please note that the recipe I have written for directions on how to make, I left out the walnuts. They are optional and you can decide if you want them or not.

Blue Ribbon Recipe

These are not your run-of-the-mill oatmeal cookies. These cookies have a great flavor and I absolutely love the crispiness.  These would be great with some vanilla ice cream and caramel syrup.  Yum!

Ingredients For oatmeal crisps

  • 1 c
    Butter Softened
  • 1 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 c
    Granulated sugar
  • 2
    Eggs
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1 1/2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 3 c
    Rolled Oats
  • 1/2 c
    Walnuts - optional

How To Make oatmeal crisps

  • 1
    Cream Butter and sugars.
  • 2
    Add eggs and vanilla, beat well.
  • 3
    Mix flour, salt, and baking soda together.
  • 4
    Add flour mix to butter mix slowly.
  • 5
    Chill dough thoroughly.
  • 6
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

    Take out of fridge and using a 1/2 inch to 1 inch melon baller, place your dough onto an ungreased baking sheet.

    Place in oven for 10 minutes or until lightly brown.

    Place on rack to cool, then eat.
