Karla's Notes:

I have heard this recipe called "Mrs. Field's Chocolate Chip Cookies" or "Neiman Marcus Cookies". This takes a little work but they are the best chocolate chip cookies I've had. This recipe makes a lot of cookies.

Directions

1
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Cream together butter and sugars. Add eggs one at a time mixing well in between. Add vanilla.
2
Mix together dry ingredients and combine with sugar mixture. Stir in pecans, chocolate chips and grated chocolate bar.
3
Shape dough into golf-ball sized balls, Place 2" apart on ungreased cookie sheet, flattening slightly. Bake at 375 for 6-8 minutes. Let cool slightly and put on wire rack to cool.

I'm glad the recipe inspired you! I got the stuff for them to make this week. The grandkids are out of school for the Spring Break. I made them for their parents, too. Don't they grow up so, so fast?

IMPORTANT: I am making the cookies right now and I found that I forgot an ingredient!! I'm so sorry if you made these with the original that I posted. I am editing the recipe right now but it takes a bit to show up.

ADD TO INGREDIENTS: 4 CUPS FLOUR
2 TABLESPOONS BAKING SODA

This is in addition to the 5 cups of oat flour and 2 tablespoons baking powder. Again if you made this recipe and it didn't work, I am so sorry. I guess I couldn't read my own writing.
