Dad had a special request for me...to make Grandma Knippel's Chocolate Chip Cookies. I said, "I'm a baker & I have tons of different recipes for CCC." He said, "No! I don't know what made these different than any other CCC & my mom used to send me these cookies all the time when I was in the Navy. They were the BEST! Very buttery." So I finally got the recipe from my Aunt Bev. To me, they look like any other CCC recipe. Who knows?

Ingredients For grandma knippel's chocolate chip cookies

  • 2 stick
    butter, room temperature
  • 1 c
    dark brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 2 x lg
    egg
  • 2 tsp
    pure vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1 c
    walnuts, chopped
  • 2 - 12 oz pkg
    semi-sweet chocolate chips

How To Make grandma knippel's chocolate chip cookies

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

    Cream butter & sugars; cream thoroughly.

    Add egg & vanilla; mix well.

    In a large bowl, sift flour, baking soda & salt. Add slowly to the creamed mixture; mix well.

    Fold in nuts & chips.

    Drop by spoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet & bake 10 minutes or until golden brown.
