- vegetable oil (note: split oil into (2) 1/3 cup portions

1Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place 1 cup water in small saucepan and heat to boiling.
2Stir cocoa and baking soda together in mixing bowl.
3Blend in 1/3 cup of the vegetable oil into cocoa mixture.
4Add 1/2 cup of boiling water; stir until mixture thickens.
5Stir in sugar, eggs, and remaining 1/3 c. Oil; stir until smooth.
6Add flour, vanilla and salt; blend completely.
7Pour into lightly greased 9x13 pan. Bake for 35-40 minutes. Cool and frost with chocolate frosting.
