Easy Sour Cream Cookies

Ingredients

1 1/2 c	sugar
3/4 c	shortning
2 eggs	slightly beaten
1/2 tsp	baking soda
1 c	sour cream
3 1/2 c	flour
1/2 tsp	salt
1/2 tsp	vanilla

This has always been a favorite in my family and could be in yours too:-)

Directions

Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs; mix well. Add soda to sour cream; add to egg and sugar mixture.

Sift flour with baking soda and salt; add to egg mixture gradually. Add vanilla.

Drop from teaspoon onto greased cookie sheets. Bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes or until lightly browned. Yield 3 dozen

As a personal preference I use butter flavored Crisco for the shortening.

I have always liked sour cream cookies and would like to try this recipe. There is one confusing part that I hope you can clarify. In the directions it says to add the soda to the sour cream and then below it says to add the soda to the flour and salt and sift. Which one is it, or do you add soda two times?
