Want an after-school treat for the kids? These dishpan cookies are perfect. They're buttery and soft with a chewy center. But, you get a nice crunchy surprise every so often while you're chewing. Filled with butter pecan flavor, these easy cookies are addicting. With every bite of this cookie, you get sweet, savory, AND chewy....all rolled into one!

Ingredients For dishpan cookies

  • 2 c
    brown sugar
  • 2 c
    white sugar
  • 2 c
    vegetable oil
  • 4 lg
    eggs
  • 2 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 c
    oats
  • 4 c
    corn flakes
  • 1 1/2 c
    pecans, chopped
  • 2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 2 tsp
    salt
  • 4 c
    all-purpose flour

How To Make dishpan cookies

  • Sugars, oil, vanilla, and eggs mixed together.

    Cream together brown and white sugars, oil, eggs, and vanilla.
  • Sifted flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.

    Sift the flour, salt, and baking soda together.
  • Mixing flour into the wet ingredients.

    Add to creamed mixture and mix well.
  • Corn flakes, nuts, and oats folded in.

    Fold in the corn flakes, oats, and nuts.
  • Spoonfuls of batter on a baking sheet.

    Drop by heaping teaspoon onto a greased cookie sheet.
  • Baking the cookies.

    Bake at 350 degrees until golden brown (about 10 - 12 min).
