Ingredients For cream cheese delights

1/2 c

butter flavored shortening
1 pkg

3 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/2 c

sugar
1

egg yolk
1 tsp

vanilla
1 c

all purpose flour
1 tsp

salt
halved maraschino cherries or candied cherries

How To Make cream cheese delights

In a small bowl, cream the shortening, cream cheese and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg yolk and vanilla. Combine flour and salt; gradually add to the creamed mixture and mix well.

Drop by teaspoonfuls 2 in. apart onto greased baking sheets. Top each with a cherry half. Bake at 350° for 12-15 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool for 1 minute before removing to wire racks.
