Too much spare time on my hands lead me to make these half peanut butter, half choc. chip cookies! BTW, I changed the name of this from Twisted Cookie to the title now, since it was my first choice and more fitting.

For Chocolate chip cookies, mix together shortening, softened butter for 30 sec. Add brown sugar, white sugar, and baking soda. Beat until mixture is combined, scraping sides of bowl. Beat in eggs and vanilla till combined. Beat in flour, then stir in choc. chips.

I like to refrigerate my dough for several hours or overnight, I place each in a plastic container with a lid. Empty dough out onto cutting board and cut into "slices". Then cut in the other direction to make squares.

Roll each square up into a ball, then combine one peanut butter ball and one choc. chip ball and roll together. Each ball should be about one heaping teaspoon.
  • 5
Flatten combined balls with spatula. Place 2" apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375°. Time will depend on size of cookie and individual oven. For these, the two balls rolled together was about the size of a pingpong ball, and baked for about 10-12 min. Smaller ones should bake in about 7-10 min.
