1 cup flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/8 tsp. salt
1/4 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup canned pumpkin puree
1/2 tbsp. finely grated orange zest
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Directions Step-By-Step

Preheat oven to 375. Set out two baking sheets. Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon and salt in large bowl. Use a pastry blender to cut in butter until the mixture resembles fine crumbs. Stir in the sugar, pumpkin and orange zest. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop teaspoons of the dough 2 inches apart on the baking sheets. Bake until golden, 8 to 10 minutes. Cool on the baking sheets until the cookies firm slightly, about 5 minutes. Transfer to wire racks to cool completely. Makes about 22
