These are my teenage son's favorite cookies. I usually make a batch about once a month. I have to admit, these are some of my favorites also.

Ingredients For chocolate oatmeal cookies

  • 2 c
    sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    cocoa powder
  • 1/2 c
    milk
  • 1 stick
    butter
  • 1/2 c
    peanut butter
  • 2 c
    uncooked rolled oats
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract

How To Make chocolate oatmeal cookies

    Mix sugar and cocoa in a boiler and stir lightly.

    Add milk and butter; place on medium high heat. Stir.
  • 3
    Cook until it starts to boil; stir as it cooks; boil for about 2 minutes; remove from stove.

    Add peanut butter and vanilla; stir until peanut butter is melted into chocolate.

    Add the oats and stir until they are coated thoroughly.

    Spoon onto waxed paper or cookie sheets coated with Crisco.

    Don't tell anyone else, but you can lick the bowl. But be careful, it's hot!
