1 pkg(12 ounces) semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 pkg(8 ounces) cream cheese

1 can(5.3 ounce) evaporated milk

1 cwalnuts, chopped

1 tspalmond extract

1/2 csugar

3 cflour, unbleached, unsifted

1-1/2 csugar

1/2 tspsalt

2eggs

1 cbutter, softened
How To Make chocolate layer bars

1Combine chocolate chips, cream cheese and evaporated milk and 1/2 cup sugar in medium saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until chips are melted and mixture is smooth. Remove from heat; stir in walnuts and 1 teaspoon almond extract. Blend well; set aside.

2Soften butter and place in large mixing bowl. Add 1-1/2 cups sugar, salt, eggs, remaining 1 teaspoon almond extract, baking powder and mix with electric mixer until creamy. Stir in flour with wooden spoon until soft crumbs form.

3Press half of flour mixture into a greased 9 X 13 inch pan; spread with chocolate mixture. Sprinkle rest of crumb mixture over filling. Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes or until golden brown. Cool; cut into bars.
