Ingredients For chocolate kiss thumbprint

1/2 cbutter flavor shortening

3/4 cchopped nuts

1/4 tspsalt

1 call purpose flour

11 ounce square unsweetened chocolate, melted, cooled

1egg, separated
-
1/2 tspvanilla
-
1 Tbspmilk
-
1/2 csugar

How To Make chocolate kiss thumbprint

1Heat oven to 350 degrees.

2Grease baking sheet with butter flavored shortening.

3Set aside.

4Combine butter flavored shortening, sugar, milk, vanilla and egg yolk.

5Beat at medium speed of electric mixer until well blended.

6Add melted chocolate and mix well.

7Combine flour and salt.

8Add to chocolate mixture and mix well until well blended.

9Form dough into 1 inch balls.

10Beat egg white slightly with fork and coat balls with egg white.

11Roll in chopped nuts.

12Place 2 inches apart on baking sheet.

13Press thumb gently in center of each cookie.

14Bake at 350 degrees for 7 minutes.

15Remove from oven.

16Place chocolate kiss in each thumbprint and return to oven for 1 more minute.

17Remove to cooling rack. (Makes 2 1/2 dozen 2 inch cookies.)
