Preheat oven to 350°. Stir together your flour, baking soda and salt in a medium bowl.
In a large bowl or standup mixer beat your butter, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla until creamy. Add your eggs and mix well. Gradually add the flour mixture and mix well. Sitr in your chocolate chips and currants by hand.
Chill for at least 1 hour or overnight. Drop by rounded teaspoons unto a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly brown. Cool before removing to wire rack to cool completely.
