I received this recipe from a friend about 10 years ago. I think that the cookie dough recipe is from Crisco, but the cream cheese filling was added along the way. It is a great favorite in my family.

Blue Ribbon Recipe

Bring a regular chocolate chip cookie bar to a whole new level of yumminess by adding a layer of cheesecake to the center. The perfect treat for any time of the year. The cookie layer is a tender cookie bar (almost like a brookie) and full of rich flavor. Creamy and rich, the cream cheese layer is the perfect mate to the cookie layer. These are rich and addictive.

How To Make chocolate chip cream cheese brownies

Test Kitchen Tips
Every oven is different. Ours were done at 45 minutes so we suggest keeping an eye on them while baking.
  • Cookie dough batter split in half.
    1
In a large bowl, mix all ingredients for chocolate chip cookies in the order listed above. Divide into two parts and set aside.
  • Cream cheese filling ingredients combined in a bowl.
    2
In a second bowl, mix all cream cheese filling ingredients until smooth.
  • Half the cookie dough batter pressed into a baking dish.
    3
Spread one part of cookie dough on the bottom of greased 13 X 9 pan. (Mine measures 13 3/4 by 9 1/2). It will help if your hands are wet, otherwise, the dough will stick to your fingers.
  • Cream cheese batter spread over cookie dough.
    4
Pour the cream cheese filling over the cookie dough.
  • Pieces of cookie dough batter on top of cream cheese layer.
    5
Top the filling with the remaining dough by creating dabs of dough (or little pancakes of dough). Once again it will help if your fingers are wet.
  • Brownie bars baking in the oven.
    6
Bake at 350 F for about 50 minutes or until a cake tester comes out clean.
  • Bars cooling before being sliced.
    7
Cool and divide into bite-size pieces (about 40 or so). Enjoy it as much as we do!
